Congratulations to Binghamton Elementary Orchestra students Gino DePersis, Imani Diagne, Jonah Lyons, Siana Montalvo-Geary, Abubacar Ouedraogo, Jacob Peterman, and Keira Williams for their participation in the BCMEA Festival 5-6 Grade Orchestra! They auditioned on scales and excerpts to successfully gain entrance into this select group. Their performance was on March 9, 2024 at the Anderson Center at Binghamton University.
Under the direction of guest conductor Cathleen Murphy, they performed Dragonhunter by Richard Meyer, Brandenburg Concerto No, 5, First Movement by J.S. Bach (arranged by Merle J. Isaac), and “Finale” from Symphony No. 5 by Ludwig vanBeethoven (arranged by Richard Meyer). The students come from the orchestra programs of Ruth Fisher (Thomas Jefferson), Laura Hine (West MS), Burt Mueller (Mann), and Amanda Schmitz (Roosevelt and Franklin). We are very proud of our students!
